How it works
Formula
Adjusted Area = Area × (1 + Waste%) • 4×8 Sheets = ceil(A ÷ 32) • 4×12 Sheets = ceil(A ÷ 48) • Screws ≈ 1 per ft² • Compound ≈ 1 gal per 100 ft²
Worked example
An 800 ft² room with 10% waste = 880 ft² → 28 sheets of 4×8 or 19 sheets of 4×12, ~880 screws and ~9 gallons of joint compound.
