Formula
Cubic Yards = (L × W × Depth/12) ÷ 27 • Tons = Cubic Yards × Density
Worked example
A 12 × 4 ft raised bed at 6 in deep = 0.89 yd³. At 1.1 tons/yd³ that is about 1 ton.
